Wanna get married? Eh, why not :)

The basics that you need to know to catch up with what's going on:

Akhtar and I are getting married on January 4th, 2014- yes that's 1-4-14 and no, that wasn't on purpose.  But yes, I like it anyway :)

My parents and I leave for India on December 11th- that's 5 days away.

Akhtar and his father will join us there about two weeks later- when Akhtar's Winter break starts.

I have not bought a dress or printed invitations or figured out flowers or a DJ or a photographer or the menu.

The only thing that is set is the location, which is something I didn't have control over since apparently Muslims in Bilimora have very few choices as to what kind of banquet halls they can book.

I haven't been to India since the Summer before I started 7th grade.  I was 12.

I'm looking forward to seeing my maternal grandfather and all of my extended family.  I think I'm finally old enough to appreciate the love that these people have felt for me all these years without even truly knowing me.

I want to keep my friends and family here updated with what's happening while I'm still in the States and especially when I'm in India.  I hope that this blog will allow me to do just that and more.
